Reflecting on an Amazing 2024: A Year in Photography
As we wrap up 2024, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey I’ve taken through my photography this year. Each project has been a unique adventure, showcasing the beauty of life, love, and creativity. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights.
Kicking Off the Year with Family Love
The year began beautifully with a heartwarming family group photoshoot, capturing the essence of togetherness. The monochromatic cream-toned images radiated warmth and unity, setting a serene tone for the year. Following this, I had the joy of documenting a maternity shoot that seamlessly transitioned into the newborn family photos. It was a privilege to capture such intimate moments during this transformative time for the family.
A Dream Wedding on K’gari Island
As summer approached, I ventured to the stunning K’gari Island for a wedding shoot. The natural beauty of the location was breathtaking, and I was able to capture some incredible nature footage amidst the festivities. The combination of love and the island’s spectacular backdrop created memories that will last a lifetime.
Celebrating Diversity in the Arts
Mid-summer brought an exciting opportunity to work with the local trans community, capturing portfolio images for talented performers. This gig was not just a job; it was a celebration of diversity and talent in our vibrant community.
Vintage Vogue in the Heat
Before summer’s end, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Otomo on their winter collection, aptly named “Vintage Vogue.” The stunning model donned warm coats in the sweltering heat, creating a striking juxtaposition that made for some compelling images.
Earth Frequency Festival: A Media Team Experience
Joining the media team for the Earth Frequency Festival was a significant highlight. We had an amazing time capturing drone footage and stills of the roving performers and workshop facilitators, showcasing the festival’s lively spirit. The experience was not only fun but also a great opportunity to build our portfolio for next year’s application.
Glam to Grunge: An Underground Adventure
Back to fashion, I worked on Otomo’s glam to grunge photoshoot in an underground tunnel skate park. The vibrant graffiti backdrop added an edgy flair to the images, perfectly complementing the bold fashion choices. This shoot truly embodied the spirit of urban creativity.
Capturing Nature and Heartfelt Moments
In July, I had the chance to capture stunning macro shots at a wildlife show, highlighting the intricate beauty of nature. However, the year also brought poignant moments, including a memorial shoot for my own family. This heartfelt project was a labor of love, allowing me to honor cherished memories through photography.
